Obituary of Norma Estelle Humphrey

Norma Estelle Humphrey, 96 Norma passed away in the wee hours of the morning on Friday, February 16, 2018 at Twin Oaks Hospital, Musquodobit Harbour. Born in Canaan Forks, N.B. December 9, 1921. She was a daughter of the late Robert M. L. and Mary (Keirstead) Patterson. Our mom was a loving comforter, nurse, guide and the worlds greatest cook, a passion that she professionally pursued later in life. She was a former member of the Bedford Legion where she enjoyed her Wednesday crib game and Thursday darts, as which she was a formidable opponent. Mom is survived by sons, Robert (Marjorie); Barry (Sharon), Rodney (Marion); daughter, Marina (Gary) Clark; and sister Ethel Sleep of Sussex, NB; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of over 50 years, Percy Gordon; brothers, Cyril, Robert “Buster”, Donald; sisters, Unavieve, Louise, Iva, Althea, Jennie, Amy, and Sylvia. Cremation has taken place. A family graveside service will be held Thursday, February 22 at 11 am in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lower Sackville. To the doctors, nurses and other staff at Twin Oaks we offer a very special thank you for the compassionate and dedicated care you gave our mother in her final days, also to the V.O.N. and Northwood Homecare for the help given to mom over the past two years.
