We are saddened to announce the passing of Estella Marjorie McPhee, 80, on September 6, 2023, at the Northside Community Guest Home. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late James and Clara Thomson.
In her earlier years, she worked for CBVRSC at MacLennan Junior High School, Westmount, as grounds supervisor. She was a longtime member of TOPS-NS 1199. Stella loved dancing with her husband, music, socializing, and her favorite card game Rummoli; she was happiest when she was surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Trevor (fur buddy, Paisley) and Billy (Jennifer); daughters, Estella, Belinda (Bruce) and Judy (Roy); brothers, Jim, Bernard and Patty; sisters, Margie and Bernadette; grandchildren, Brittany, Meagen, Heidi, Amber and step-grandchild, Anthony; great-grandchildren, Braxton, Sophie, Kaleb and Brynley; and daughter-in-law, Kelly.
Besides her parents, Stella was predeceased by her husband, LeRoy, of 60 years; son, Omer; brothers, Darcy and LeRoy; sisters, Mary Veronica (Lovey) and Dolly; and son-in-law, Ron.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 6 Churchill Drive, Sydney, 902-539-7175. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 9 from 12 – 4 pm in the funeral home with memorial service at 4 pm in the Chapel, Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating. A reception will follow.
