Charlotte Elizabeth Fagan
Glace Bay
It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of Charlotte Fagan, age 68, on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Catherine (Hennessey) Fagan.
Charlotte was a talented artist with her hands, as she crocheted unique creations now owned by people all over the world. She raised her young family as a thriving restaurant manager and at retirement she volunteered at various local kitchens and bars for senior’s fundraisers. Charlotte loved to dance and most recently learned to golf and was amusingly quite a ringer on the putting green.
Charlotte was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, partner, aunt and friend and will be missed by all who knew her.
Charlotte is survived by her partner of several years, Kenny Gardiner; her daughter, Catherine E. Fogarty; two sons, Michael C. Fogarty and Eric J. Fogarty; her wonderful six grandchildren, Gabrielle, Patrick, Austin, Shayne, Lita and Erika, and her fur grandbaby, Marley. She is also survived by her sister, Mary D. Gillis, and her brother, Hubert A. (Connie) Fagan.
She was predeceased by Catherine ‘Kay’ (nee Martin), Dorothy M. Fagan (nee Morrison),Margaret A. Fagan (Holland), Shirley M. Fagan (Hall) John J. Fagan and George P. Fagan.
Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Parish, Reserve Mines with Father Daniel Boudreau officiating.
Donations may be made to the local food banks, as Charlotte feels that charity starts at home.
