Obituary of David Bruce Dober

DOBER David Bruce- Age 66, of Timberlea. It is with great suddenness that we pass on the death of David Dober after a two-month battle with cancer. Dave died peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on August 23, 2023, in the QEII Halifax Infirmary. Survived by his wife, Carolyn (Hart); daughter, Mary-Anne (Brian); sisters, Valerie Cranidge (Michael), and Maria Dober; and chosen brother, Frank Penniceard (Samantha); many nieces; nephews; and in-laws to name all. Predeceased by his parents, Valentine Francis Dober, and Mary Veronica Dober (Emberley); and two brothers, Anthony Paul Dober, and Joseph Peter Dober. David was a loyal employee of Crombie REIT for the past 31 years. All through his adult life Dave portrayed himself as a grumpy/cynical man but those who took the time to really get to know him saw through this charade and saw him as a person who would go out of his way to assist those less fortunate than himself. Arrangements have been entrusted to T. J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 71 McQuade Lake Crescent, Halifax, where a memorial service is to take place on Thursday September 7, 2023, in the Chapel at 1pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the IPF Foundation of Canada. Special thanks go out to all Capital Health workers at the Cancer Care facility in Halifax.
