Obituary of Anne Elizabeth Gouthro

Anne Elizabeth Gouthro, 79 Gardiner Mines, NS With deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our mother Anne Elizabeth Gouthro in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, on Tuesday, August 15, 2023. Born in Reserve Mines, NS, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Margaret (O’Brien) MacMullin. Anne was the wife of the late Joseph (Sonny) Gouthro. Ma had a love for Bingo and the company of her dog Tucker. She would faithfully have her hair done each Saturday. Anne is survived by her daughters: Joanne Rutherford (Dave), Paula Brandon (Caulist), Helen Gouthro (David) and Tammy Gouthro (Steven); grandchildren: Joey, Brittany, Courtney, Michael, Jordan, Brooklynn, Alicia, Breanna, Kayla, Victoria, Shayne, as well as five great-grandchildren, Oaklyn, Wyatt, Peyton, Paisley, and Ruby. Ann is also survived by sister’s Dolly (Buddy), Leona (Roy), Marie (Francis), and Patsy (Francis). Along with her husband and parents, Anne was predeceased by sister Paula and brother Francis. We, the family are grateful for the compassionate care mom received from the ICU Staff in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital during her stay there. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anne’s memory to a charity of one’s choice. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, from 12-1 p.m., and a Celebration of Life will follow at 1 p.m., with Fr. Norman MacPhee presiding, all in T.J.
