Obituary of Jake Chamberlain

Joseph ‘Jake’ Emile Chamberlain Gardiner Mines It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of Jake Chamberlain, age 81 on Friday, August 11, 2023 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Bathurst, NB, he was the son of the late Abraham and Vera (Boucher) Chamberlain. He was a jack of all trades, he was employed at various jobs, and most recent one being the maintenance man at Victoria Haven Nursing Home, until his retirement. He was a kind and compassionate man, who enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He enjoyed gardening and going for nature walks. Jake was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Bridgeport. Jake is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Donna Ulrich; son, Mark (Amanda) ; daughter, Darlene( Keith); brother Danny; sister; Germaine both of New Brunswick; three precious grandchildren, Mason, Justin and Alicia; brother-in-law, Reginald; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Marjorie; stepsister, Nicole; stepbrother, Jacque and brother-in-law, August. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Nova Scotia Kidney Foundation. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or service. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, for their care and compassion given to Jake. Thank you to his sister-in-laws Theresa and Anna for all of their help and support during this time and to the neighbours at the complex. Thank you.
