Obituary of Margaret Patricia Mills

Margaret Patricia Mills, 77 Glace Bay, NS Passed away Aug. 2nd, 2023, during her stay at the CB Regional hospital after a short illness. Patsy was born in Glace Bay, NS to William and Margaret (nee MacNeil) Metcalfe on May 24, 1946. Patsy was an avid skater, frequenting many if not all of Cape Bretons local rinks. She loved travel, visiting many tropical destinations. Patsy started bowling again in a local ladies’ league, loved going on walks, attending concerts, and participating in yoga with many wonderful friends. Patsy was a member of a ladies’ bowling league throwing strikes every Wednesday and Thursday, as well as a member of the Reserve Mines Seniors and Pensioners club. Patsy is survived by her oldest son Earl (April) and their children, Zoe, Blake, and Ben Markwick.; daughter Tanya (Sean), their children, Scott, Evan, Hunter, and Lila; youngest son Christopher (Jen) and their children Ali, Brian Gibbings, grandson Sterling; Patsy is also survived by many loving nieces & nephews. Patsy was predeceased by her husband, Wayne, her parents, William, and Margaret; siblings, Russel, Marion, Sheldon, and Dorothy as well as her father and mother-in-law, Earl, and Mary (Scoop) Mills. Patsy had a wonderful friend group, maintaining close relationships with many since childhood. The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Patsy’s friend Barb, and her eldest niece Rose who sat tirelessly at her bedside while Patsy was in hospital. A special thank you as well to the staff at both the New Waterford and CB Regional Hospital for their wonderful care and compassion. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Patsy’s name to the Salvation Army or a charity of ones’ choice. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 21, 2023, from 10 to 11 a.m. and Funeral Service to follow with Fr.Norman MacPhee presiding in T.J.
