Obituary of Christa Matzick

Christa Erika Matzick Glace Bay It is with broken hearts that we, the family announce the passing of Christa Matzick on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at Victoria Haven Nursing Home with her loving son by her side. Born in Berlin, she was the daughter of the late Emil and Charlotte (Kreuntner) Wendorf. Mom was employed at Naturalizer Shoe Store for many years in Toronto and British Columbia and later worked at Olympic Business Machines in Toronto. She enjoyed watching a good movie and going for a walk everyday. She enjoyed spending time with Marcus and Shelia. Christa is survived by her loving son, Marcus (Shelia Power) Matzick; granddaughter, Sarah Power (Josh Bona); her sister, Ingrid (Heinz) Hertel; her niece Sabina and her Victoria Haven Family. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by Marcus’ father Klaus Matzick. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or service as per Christa’s wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA. Thank you to all the staff and doctors at Victoria Haven Nursing Home for all your care given to Christa during her stay there.
