Sarah Catherine ‘Sis’ McInnis (Adamson) April 25, 1938 – July 31, 2023 We the family of the late Sis McInnis regret to announce her peaceful passing on Monday July 31, 2023 at Taigh Na Mara with her family by her side at the age of 85. She was the daughter of the late John and Christy Adamson of Glace Bay. Mom lived most of her life on Birkley Street where she raised her family with her husband Allie. Mom was a lifetime member of the Army & Navy unit 246 Glace Bay and was an avid dart shooter. She showed her talents in playing darts over the years at the Army Navy, Guildwood and Northstreet Hall where she was known as “Dead Eye”. She couldn’t miss. Sis was someone who loved a game of bingo. You could always find her and her sister in law Julie in front of the T.V. for T.V. bingo every Wednesday night with their Pepsi and Plain Lays chips in hand. Mom would always greet you with a huge smile whether she knew you or not and always made you feel welcome. Her biggest, most proud moments was when she spent time with her family. She is survived by daughters Christina Hough (Mike), Diane MacDonald, Patricia (DJ) Syms, and one special nephew who she helped raise like her own son, Michael (Cathy) McInnis. She is also survived by her son in law Roy Dean. She is survived by sister Marguerite Butts, one brother Gerald (Marion) Adamson, and numerous nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. Sis is survived by 10 grandchildren: Patsy Dean (Johnathan Eveleigh) who she raised like her own daughter, Marion and Billy Hough, Sheldon (Tasha) MacDonald, Nicole MacDonald, Brandon (Gabby) Syms, Garrett (Dana) Syms, Jennah (Jeff MacLean) Syms, Ashley (Pat) Simms, Lindsey McInnis, Katelyn (Jason Boutilier) McInnis. She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and two more on the way in December and February.
