Obituary of Marion Lorraine Roode (Fry)

It is with great sadness that the family of Marion Roode (Fry) announce her passing at Parkstone Enhanced Care, Halifax, at the age of 94. Marion was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Violet Fry and was the last surviving member of her family, having been predeceased by her brothers Wally and Doug, and sister Joyce. Marion is gone to join her much loved husband, Ervin with whom she spent 60 wonderful years before his passing in 2007. Born in Halifax, she raised her children in Lakeside, later moving with her husband Ervin to Foley’s Mountain, Centreville, NS. Mom was a loving, caring and non-judgemental person who was truly beautiful inside and out. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren and thoroughly enjoyed hearing about their life accomplishments. She loved dancing, music, her daily walks, flowers, plants and knitting, and everything colorful and the more bling the better! She made friends easily and enjoyed whatever adventure came her way. She is survived by her daughters Valerie and Julie (Stephen), her sons Roger (Shelly) and Carson, her six grandchildren, Stephen (Ashlee), Michelle, Danielle, Marla (Francois), Shaun and Ben, as well as her 6 great grandchildren Lawson, Elly, William, Jaxson, Grayson, and Noah. She was a member of the Neighbours Club while living near Centreville in the Valley and she greatly enjoyed working with the disabled.
