Obituary of Jennifer Jane Ferrier

Jennifer Jane Ferrier (Passmore), age 52, of Halifax, Nova Scotia passed away 21 July 2023 at Oakwood Terrace long term care facility. Born in London, ON she was daughter of Kenneth Passmore and the late Linda Passmore, Step Mother Bonnie Passmore. Jen loved Jesus, her daughter Felicity and her dog Licorice. She would speak regularly with pride of Felicity’s focused determination, joyful sense of humour and feisty personality. No one gave her more joy than Felicity. Jen loved being a mom, watching Felicity’s gymnastics, dance and soccer as well as summer vacations with the protective dog in tow. Jen spent her carreer as a teacher working in the Catholic school system. She had a special gift supporting those who needed a little extra attention and care. She had a big heart for the underdog. Saint Benedict Parish and Alpha played a big part in her life. She came to work at SBP running the Alpha program and raising up countless leaders. Jen also spent some time with Divine Renovation in their early days before retiring due to illness. Her fun spirit and contagious laughter made her a wonderful person to have on every team. Jennifer is survived by her daughter, Felicity Ferrier; and six brothers, Jason Passmore, Mark Passmore, Jesse Passmore, Joshua Passmore, Zachary Passmore, Darren Reidel; and two sisters, Brittanie Passmore and Carey Blakemore. Visitation will be held at Saint Benedict Parish Wednesday 2 August in the St Joseph’s Room from 7-9pm, 45 Radcliffe Drive Halifax NS. The funeral mass will take place at Saint Benedict Parish, 45 Radcliffe Dr Halifax, NS, Thursday 3 Aug at 12:15pm with a short reception to follow before laying Jennifer to rest at the Gates of Heaven Cemetery 33 Old Sackville Rd, Lower Sackville NS. Fr Simon Lobo and Fr James Mallon will celebrate the mass. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation can be made to AlphaCanada.org or the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada. A special thank you to kind staff at the Mira Long Term Care Facility in Truro NS, and Oakwood Terrace in Dartmouth, NS who so lovingly cared for Jennifer over the last two years.
