Obituary of Roberta Syliva Simms

SIMMS, Roberta Sylvia, 64 of Halifax passed peacefully on July 28, 2023. Born in Halifax on March 13, 1959, she was the daughter of Arthur and Anne Simms. Roberta was an accomplished athlete from a very young age and won many medals throughout High School for running and swimming. She was in the special Olympics in school and ran in Montreal, Winnipeg, Toronto and carried the torch in Halifax from 1972 – 76 after which she graduated 80 – 82. Roberta is survived by her daughter, Sara Simms; brother, Dave Simms; sister, Janet Damery; and grandchild, Hannah Connors-Simms. Roberta was predeceased by her sister, Jessie Brown-Simms. Special thanks to Paul McNamara, her best friend for 25 years, being by her side. To the staff at Northwood 11 Manor for everything they have done, and to T. J.
