Sharon Ann McNeil Glace Bay It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of Sharon Ann McNeil age 72, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney on Saturday, July 22, 2023. Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Catherine ‘Sis’ MacNeil and James Cameron MacDonald. Sharon was employed at Highland Fisheries for 25 plus years. She enjoyed playing cards with her club friends, she had a passion for baking. She loved Tim’s coffee, Saturday night sleepovers with her grandkids. Sharon is survived by her son Brian McNeil (Danielle), daughter, Kim McNeil-Pogson (Aaron); five grandchildren; Makenna, Halen, Lacey, Madison and Michael. She is also survived by her siblings, Ronnie, Michael, David Wayne and Bruce, Cecilia , Rosemary and Elaine as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Brian Gregory McNeil; stepmother Irene. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 27, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. at T. J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199) with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating. Burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Cancer Center, Palliative Care. We want to thank John and Sharon for the loving care of our mother. We also want to thank the Palliative Care Unit for everything they had done for our mother.
