Obituary of Donalda "Peanie" Elizabeth MacDonald

Donalda "Peanie" E. MacDonald It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of Donalda Elizabeth MacDonald, age 81, at the Glace Bay Hospital. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Alexander ‘Sandy’ and Catherine (MacDonald) MacKinnon. In her early years, she was employed at General Instruments, then became a stay-at-home Mom, after raising her daughters, she then returned to work, working at McNeil’s Variety where she made many good friends. When Ma was having a good day, she enjoyed going for bike rides, skating, and watching horse racing, going fishing and shopping trips to Giant Tiger. Donalda is survived by her three loving daughters, Alanna, Tania, and Cathy; her grandchildren, Emily, Jenna, Victoria, Blake, and Emma; sister, Mary; niece, Patricia and nephew, Paul. Ma is also survived by her very special friend, George Mc Donald. Besides her parents, Mom was predeceased by her husband, Murdock MacDonald, brother, Jackie. We the family, would like to extend our gratitude to the nurses and doctors of the Glace Bay Hospital, 3 South who took care of ma during her last days. Cremation has taken place.
