Obituary of Koula (Angeliki) Vihos

Koula (Angeliki) Vihos Glace Bay, NS Koula (Angeliki) Vihos nee Kalavrouziotis passed away July 7, 2023, in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Born in Kalavrouza, Greece, she was the daughter of the late George and Vasiliki (Farmakoulas) Kalavrouziotis. She is survived by her devoted husband Nick, children Tina (Jr), Lula (Dave) and John (Jill), grandchildren, Angela (Keegan), Renee (Kirk), Nikolas and Johnny; great grandchildren Lucas and Sophia; niece Tasia and nephews Stavros, George, and Dimitri. She was predeceased by her first husband Constantine Vihos, her brothers Nick and Phonse Kalavrouziotis and sister Tasia Lanaras as well as a brother and sister in infancy. In her early years her strong will and perseverance made her an extraordinary businesswoman. From the Casino Billiards to Koula’s Boutique (Glace Bay and Sydney), Cotton Plus (Sydney) and later on she and her husband Nick owned TLJ convenience. Ma was phenomenal. She mastered everything she did. Her gardening, needlepoint, crocheting, and sewing skills were unparalleled. In the kitchen she was a master of Mediterranean cuisine, where she brought family and friends together for every occasion. She will be missed beyond words and her memory will forever remain in our hearts. Visitation will take place Friday, July 14, 2023, from 2-4 and 7-9 in T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, with Funeral Mass on Saturday July 15, 2023, at 10 am in Sts Anargaree Parish, Marconi Street Glace Bay, N.S.
