Obituary of Patricia (Tissa) Idella MacNeil

Patricia (Tissa) Idella MacNeil, 79 Glace Bay, NS It is with deep sadness that we regretfully announce the passing of our mom, grandmother, companion, sister, and aunt in the Glace Bay General Hospital on July 4, 2023, following a brief illness. Tissa was born in Glace Bay on April 5,1944, to the late Lauchlan and Gloria MacLean. Tissa was employed at the Community Hospital and Glace Bay Hospital as a housekeeper, where her strong work ethic and friendly personality formed many friendships. She enjoyed her years there and was not very fond of the “new green clean” products. Tissa enjoyed rocking and rolling with her companion Sheldon, a good game of bingo, digging clams or the serenity of a blueberry patch, where we all benefited from her delicious blueberry pies. Her greatest pride was in her family and being with those she loved. Tissa is survived by her devoted companion, Sheldon (Shelly) MacNeil, her children Shawn (Treana) and grandson Brandon, Kerrilynn (John Boutilier) and grandchildren Parker and Lexi, Lindsey (Carson Sullivan) and grandson Ryland, all of Glace Bay; brothers Davey (Susan), Grande Cache, Bernie (Barb), Glace Bay and many nieces and nephews whom she played an important role in their childhood. Also surviving are Sheldon’s children Tracey (Scott) and Shelly (Carla) and their children Mitch, Sara, Kodi and Kendra. She was predeceased by her siblings, Ann, Jean and Rolfe, special niece Wanda and nephew Tub, as well as the father of her children Morris MacNeil. At Moms request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Arrangements have been entrusted to T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS. 902.849.4199.
