Obituary of William Jeffrey Burgess

31 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear William, as a result of a motor vehicle accident on June 17th, 2023 near Bridgewater. William was born Feb 12, 1992. His 31 years of life created an environment of happiness and love for so many people. He was the only son of, Jeff & Donna (Charbonneau) Burgess, Halifax NS. He was predeceased by his Aunt, Natalie Charbonneau. William leaves behind his deeply cherished wife Victoria (Smith), Chester Basin. Married for 11 years, they shared a family of 2 dogs, Scully & Mulder and Will's feline friend, Minnow B. They enjoyed the outdoors, kayaking and golf. He is survived by his maternal grandparents, Don & Sandy Charbonneau; and paternal grandparents, Art & Linda Burgess. He is survived also by his great grandmother, Joyce Gilks. William also has aunts and uncles and much-loved cousins. He also has many friends, whose relationship with them he greatly valued. There was an easiness to Will's friendship and love. His wish was always for people to be happy and have fun. He always made people feel special. His smile was constant. Will's sense of humor was unmatched. William enjoyed living by the ocean in Chester Basin. He loved hunting and fishing. He was an amazing cook. Work was something Will enjoyed. As a red seal carpenter, he worked on many amazing projects. He loved the people he worked with. We will struggle to fill the void that Will leaves for all of us. Please know that your thoughts, prayers, and support have been invaluable to William's family. For that, William would be so very grateful. There will be a visitation event on Friday, July 7th from 3pm - 7pm. We invite you to drop in anytime for an opportunity to visit with family and friends, share stories or just sit and be with others who loved William. This is an informal event.
