Obituary of Patricia Marie Smith

Patricia Marie Smith, 70 Glace Bay, NS We the family of Patricia Marie Smith are heartbroken to announce her passing on June 24, 2023, (one day prior to her 71st birthday) at home. Patricia was the daughter of the late Angus Anthony and Mary (McIntyre) MacKinnon of Glace Bay, NS. In mom’s earlier years, she loved to play Bingo, and to those who knew mom, knew that she was always up for a good game of Bingo; she also enjoyed a challenging game of Cribbage. Later in life, she would play several different types of games on Facebook. Patricia is survived by daughters: Tanya (James MacLellan), Glace Bay, Robin (Glen) Murphy, Port Hawkesbury, and Angela (Connie), Glace Bay; twin brother Patrick MacKinnon, Sydney; grandchildren: Eric (Ashley) Smith, Shawn MacNeil, Erin Andrew, Robyn (Zach) Rhynold, Helen (Malcolm) Doyle, Ryan (Charlie) MacKinnon; 11 great-grandchildren; as well as her close friends from the Kennedy Dr. Complex; special friends Michael and Robert, Beth Vosper and childhood friend Gertie Mullins. Along with her parents, Patricia was predeceased by brothers Joe and Angus Anthony Jr., maternal grandparents Dody and Bridget McIntyre and paternal grandparents Dougall and Mary MacKinnon. Cremation has taken place under the care and compassion of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS. 902.849.4199. Graveside Service will take place in St. Anne’s Cemetery, Wallace Rd., Glace Bay, on July 7, 2023, at 1 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Cancer Research, Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the Lung Association.
