Obituary of Gloria Frances Parsons

Gloria Frances Parsons, age 77 of Halifax, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2023, at the Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Halifax, N.S. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Zinn (Mercer). Gloria worked for several years at Shirreff Hall at Dalhousie University, then in the warehouse at Canadian Tire, and later became a beloved school crossing guard before retiring. She enjoyed many years of camping amongst other adventures with her husband and family. She loved and cherished her family and friends and will be always remembered by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband, Russell (Norm) of 59 years; daughters, Suzanne Parsons (Terry) of Beaverbank, Christine Parsons (Bernard) of Lower Sackville; brother, Frederick Zinn; grandchildren, Michael, Quintynn, Gregory, Joshua, and Brianna; 2 grandogs, Romeo and Lady Lola; and great grandson, Ezekiel, as well as many other family members. She is predeceased by her son, Bruce; father, Charles; mother, Mary; stepmother, Winifred. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held 2-4 pm, Saturday July 22, 2023, at the Royal Canadian Legion located at 231 Greenhead Rd in Lakeside. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of your choice in Gloria's name. Special thanks to the staff of the Dartmouth General Hospital especially the nurses of 3 east and 4 east. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone. Part of us will go with you wherever you may roam.
