We the parents John Prendergast and Sharon Crocker and family, regret to announce the peaceful passing of our son Leon Russell Prendergast on Sunday, June 11, 2023, in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, following a brief illness.

Leon was a person with many special abilities and talents. He loved listening to his music, writing many of his stories, and painting graphic art. Despite his remarkable stature, he was truly a gentle giant. He had a great smile, a big heart, and a great sense of humour. When you met him, you could not help but love him.

Leon is survived by his mother Sharon Crocker (Wagg) (spouse Roland Gosse (deceased)), grandmother Jeanette Wagg (Ron Wagg (deceased)); father John Prendergast (Micheline); step siblings; Lara and Joshua; aunts: Edith (Bob) Ceruvich, Sandra (Earl) Taylor and Paula Prendergast (Dr. David Simpson); uncle Freddie Prendergast (Ila Jean (deceased)). Leon will also be loved and missed by all his extended family and friends, with special mention of first cousins John John, and Kimberlae.

Service arrangements have been entrusted to the care and compassion of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS. 902.849.4199. Private Family service will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023, from 2-3 p.m., with a reception to follow.
