It says to "click here to share a memory." Good heavens, there are so many and all of them are blessing. Both Myrla and Alan were those rare persons who actually lived their lives with quiet love, grace, humour and humility. As a Minister, if there was ever something going on in church that involved controversy or conflict, I would have lunch with Myrla. She would offer clear-sightedness, broad analysis, compassion and honest critique of the minister's actions/attitudes, if required. You could always hear it from her because it was offered with an ethical grounding and genuine care for the person. She was as faithful a person as I have ever met. She lived her spirituality in loving service, but a service based on a healthy, confident sense of who she was. She told the best, humorous stories. She often talked of the wonder of her children and grand-children, whom she very clearly adored. Once, she held up padded hockey gear piled near her sewing machine. She said, "You know, I guess it's a good thing, but my children think I can do anything. This hockey gear is testing that theory." I later asked Carolyn if Myrla had fixed it. She had. Myrla always found a way.
