Obituary of Frances (Nancy) Yvonne (Gouthro) Lyons

Frances Yvonne (Nancy Gouthro) Lyons Glace Bay, NS We the family of Frances Yvonne (Nancy Gouthro) Lyons, 78, of Glace Bay, are heartbroken to announce her passing in the Glace Bay Hospital, on Wednesday, May 31, 2023. Nancy was the daughter of the late Daniel and Effie Gouthro of Gardiner Mines. Nancy enjoyed her nights of playing darts and bingo with her family and friends. Her grandchildren were her life, and she was always looking forward to the next Halifax trip to visit with her granddaughter Jennifer. Nancy is survived by her partner Blaine Boozan of 34 years; a daughter Charlene Lyons (Les Corbett); stepchildren Leo Boozan (Itsy), and Michelle (Tibor); two grandchildren Jennifer (Alex), Danielle, and step-grandchildren Jessica(Mitchell), Tyler, Eli, Jared, and Natalia, as well as four step-great-grandchildren; two brothers Danny (Jackie) and Alex (Gwen); special niece Cheryl, and special cousin Effie; many nieces and nephews, and extended family. Along with her parents, Nancy was predeceased by a son in infancy John Charles; brother’s, John (Bunny), Charlie, Gilbert, Clifford, and George; a sister Catherine (Sissy) Burns, and her best friend Peggy Gouthro. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 5, 2023, from 10 to 11 a.m., and a Celebration of Life following, with Fr. Norman McPhee presiding, all in T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS. 902.849.4199. Interment will be held in St. James Cemetery, Gardiner Mines.
