John Robert (Robbie) Steele, 57
Glace Bay, NS
It is with broken hearts we announce the sudden passing of Robbie Steele on May 21, 2023, at the age of 57. Born in Reserve Mines on January 3, 1966, he was the son of the late Michael and Sharon Steele.
Dad appreciated everything outdoors, most importantly spending time with his grandchildren who were his world. Dad was a true Boston Bruins fan.
Dad is survived by his wife Patricia (MacLean) Steele; two daughters, his baby girls, Tara (Randy) Neary, and Kayla (George); two sons: T.J. (Jen), and Robert; daughter in law Alyssa Stanley; brother, Fraser (Michele) Steele; sisters: Donna (Brent) Cameron, and Norma (Jimmy) MacDonald; grandchildren: Brody, Rylee, Jase, Ryder, Olivia, Lily, Holly, and Mikko; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, whom he loved like his own, and was known as “uncle” to them all. Robbie is also survived by Bev Currie and his mother-in-law Mary Evely, several aunts, uncles, cousins, and several friends near and far.
Besides his parents, dad was predeceased by his best friend and son Jamie Steele, granddaughter Hailee Steele, and father-in-law Thomas (Batman) Evely.
Special thanks to all the nurses and doctors who cared for our dad. To dad’s niece and God daughter Sherri, for her amazing care and kindness given to him the past couple of weeks; as well as VON, for being so helpful.
“Daddy, you have taught us so much throughout our lives, but never how to live without you, Fly High with Jamie.”
“We love you to the moon and back.” Love: Tara, Kayla, T.J., Robert.”
Funeral services are under the care and compassion of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS. 902.849.4199. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at 11 am, with Lily MacDonald presiding.
