Obituary of Joyce Elaine MacNeil

Joyce Elaine (Boutilier) MacNeil Glace Bay, NS It is with great sadness that we the family of Joyce Elaine (Boutilier) MacNeil announce her passing on Saturday, May 13, 2023, surrounded by family. Born in Glace Bay, Joyce was the daughter of the late Flo and Ralph Boutilier. Over the years Joyce loved to socialize. She enjoyed bowling, bingo, a good game of trouble, as well as a night out at Dooly's and Mike's Lunch. She loved to play cards with all her special friends, you know who you are, she loved you all dearly. Joyce is survived by a son: Bud MacNeil (Yvette); daughter: Michelle MacNeil; as well as two granddaughters: Georgina (Derek) and Santana, whom she raised as her own daughters; grandsons: Christian and Jesse MacDonald, Keagan Thomson, and a very special great granddaughter Hannah Doolan. Joyce is also survived by a sister Joan Edwards and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Joyce was predeceased by a son Kenny MacNeil, brother Ronnie Boutilier, her two best friends Myra and Tootsie, as well as long-time partner Jerry "toot" McNeil. Special thanks to Nurse Dawn and staff at 3 South in Glace Bay Hospital for all your compassion and care given to Joyce during her time with you. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 11 a.m., with Fr. Duaine Devereaux presiding in T.J.
