Obituary of Marcella McNeil

Marcella McNeil Glace Bay It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of Marcella McNeil, age 78, of Glace Bay, on May 3, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Ethel Sealey. Marcella was predeceased by her husband, Duncan McNeil. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Marcella was employed with Seaview Manor as a nurse until retiring. In her younger years, mom enjoyed darts, bowling, bingo and her pool time with her family. Mom loved a good feed of lobster, which she couldn't get enough of. Marcella is survived by her loving daughters, Shauna (Blair) MacNeil, Riverview, NB, Janice at home, Pam (Dale) Moore, Glace Bay. Her grandchildren, which affectionately called her Nanny - Mitchell (Lena) MacNeil, Jewel and Kayla; her great granddaughter Josie; as well as many nieces and nephews. She will also be sadly missed by family friend Debbie and her beloved fur baby Chica. Our family would love to extend a special thank you to Mom's daughter Janice, who put mom's wants and needs first, you were her earth angel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or Palliative Care. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay. As per mom's wishes there will be no visitation. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
