Obituary of Cleon Reid

REID, Cleon, 89 years old, Born in: St. Elizabeth Jamaica, December 21, 1933, passed away on Monday April 24, 2023 at the QE11 Hospital. Cleon was the son of Nora Chisolm (adopted) and Charles Reid. Cleon was a very hard- working disciplined man. He was very sociable and was not afraid to interact with strangers and would leave them with a kind word. He also had a great love for children. During his early working life he worked as a laborer for several years. He was later employed at Tanners Leather Factory Ltd, Kingston Jamaica as a Tanner for 28 years. He would be given the requisite time off to participate in the Farm Work Program in the United States which he did on and off for approximately 20 years. He enjoyed long walks, horse racing and oftentimes would place a bet on his favorite horse. He played the lottery as well, and very seldom missed out on the purchase of tickets with his own selected numbers. Cleon is survived by his wife, Nellie Amanda Reid (Shelley) of 55 years; sons, Raymond Reid (Nadine), Rikkie Reid (Michelle); daughters, Sandra Reid, Yvonne Hay (Selvin), Melonie Reid; sister, Dinah; 8 grandchildren, Rory, Romeo, Roger, Dakota, Timothy, Toni-Kaye, Kimberley, Adrian; 7 Great grand children. Predeceased by 1 sister and 1 brother. Special thanks to our friends and family for their love and support during this time of grief.
