Obituary of Hector Morrison

Hector William Morrison Glace Bay It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Hector William Morrison, 79 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney on April 24, 2023. Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Allan Joe and Isabelle (Devison) Morrison of Glace Bay. Hector was a miner with Devco and at one time, he was the president of the UMWA. He lived a simple life. He loved his pets, Kai, Kaia and Cali. Hector is survived by his children, Paulette, Wanda, Hector Jr. (Cathy) and Derick at home; his grandchildren, Kirsten, Jordon Isabella, Brandon (Charnelle), Kayla, Jackson, and Henry; his great grandson, Maddox. He is also survived by brother, Fraser; sister, Flo (Gordon) White and sister-in-law, Barb. He leaves behind his special niece Sandra (Perm) and their family, Aden and Alexander; special friends, Paddy, Brian and Abby, Johnny and Betty Ann, Leah Ann, Sandra, and many more. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Sandy and Butch Morrison. Cremation has taken place. As per Hector’s wishes there will no visitation or service. Burial will take place at a later date. Donations in Hector’s memory may be given to the Cape Breton Cancer Society, SPCA or a charity of choice.
