Obituary of Melvin Patrick LeRoy

LeRoy, Melvin Patrick - Halifax It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Melvin at the age of 84 in Halifax on April 11, 2023. Melvin (Mel) was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. Born in North Sydney on December 13, 1938, he was a son of Harold LeRoy and Mary Evelyn Long. A kind and generous man, Melvin was a proud member of Sheet Metal Workers International Association Local 409 for over 30 years, until his retirement in 1995. A devoted family man, Melvin was happiest when spending time with his family. He was especially proud of his two great-grandsons Kashius and Elias. Melvin is survived by his son, William LeRoy (Dorothy); granddaughter, Natasha (Kalin); great-grandsons, Kashius and Elias. He is also survived by his sister, Pauline LeRoy. He was predeceased by his wife, Carol; brothers, Vernon Joseph LeRoy (Ester), Leo Francis Lohnes (Sharon); and sister, Shirley Louise Lohnes. A celebration of Melvin's life will be held at a later date.
