Obituary of Leroy Valentine McPhee
We are saddened to announce the passing of Leroy Valentine McPhee, 85, on April 4, 2023, at the Northside Community Guest Home. Born in Reserve Mines, LeRoy was the son of the late John and Annie Mae McPhee. He was the last surviving member of his family.
Leroy loved his work as a commercial roofer for over 65 years. One of his favorite places was Grand River where he enjoyed hunting and fishing, but the two loves of his life were his family and The Toronto Maple Leafs. He also enjoyed music and dancing with his wife, Stella.
Leroy is survived by his wife, Stella, of 60 years; sons Trevor (fur buddy Paisley) and Bill (Jennifer); daughters Stella (Ron), Belinda (Bruce) and Judy (Roy); grandchildren Brittany, Meagen, Heidi and Amber (who he was proud of following his steps with their passion for music); step-grandchild Anthony; great-grandchildren Sophie, Braxton, Brinley and Kaleb and daughter-in-law Kelly McPhee.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son Omer and brothers Nick, Malcolm, Junie, Michael, Adrian, Omer, Timmie, Doug, and Jerry.
Memorial donations may be made to the Loaves and Fishes, Sydney. The family would like to thank the staff of The Northside Guest Home. A special thank you to Leroy’s hunting and fishing buddy, Callie, for his visits and phone calls.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 6 Churchill Drive, Sydney, 902-539-7175. Visitation will take place on Saturday, April 8 from 1-3 pm in the funeral home, memorial service directly following at 3pm in the Chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant, a reception will follow after the service. Interment will take place at a later date.
