Obituary of Paulette Vera Cuza

CUZA, Paulette – Feb. 8, 1952-2023 (71), of Halifax, NS. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Paulette on Saturday April 1, 2023 at the QE11 with members of her children by her side. Paulette was a daughter of the late Ernest Hamilton and Jeanette Murphy of Beechville. Besides her parents, Paulette was predeceased by her partner, Michael Roy Graves; brother, Eric Murphy; sister, Joy Clayton; niece, Brandy; and great nephew, Michael. She is survived by her sons, Dana Murphy (Christine), Shawn Murphy (Shannon), Dana Hamilton (Ashley); and daughter, Samantha Murphy. As well, surviving are her siblings, Herman (Shirley), Rose, Yvonne, Susan (Mike), Madeline, Danny, Andrew (Laurie), Margo (Frankie). Paulette had 13 grandchildren that she loved dearly; Terell, Jamar, Tyree, Jayreese, Devonte, Derez, Cianna, Shawn Jr, Shaniah, Williams Jr., Breanna, Brittany and Mitchell. Paulette was employed with Deep Down Cleaners for many years retiring in 2019. She loved going to the Halifax Forum Super Bingo and was an avid bingo player. She also loved going fishing and being with her grandchildren who frequently spent time with her. Mom also enjoyed gardening and would often assist others in fixing up their yards. You would often see Mom with her Tim’s coffee and a cigarette. Although small in stature, Mom was a big person who could hold her own in a confrontation. We know that the Bingo Hall will not be the same without our Mom. We thank the nurses on 8.1 at the QE11who tried to ensure our Mother’s last days were as comfortable as possible.
