Obituary of Cynthia Gaessler

Cynthia Gale Gaessler née Henry, passed away 18th March 2023, at the QEII hospital Halifax Nova Scotia. Cynthia was born in Cobourg Ontario the daughter of Vera and Fred Henry. Cynthia met her future husband of almost 47 years on the company baseball team. Cynthia played second base and Leopold played short stop. Met in September, engaged in November, and married next spring 10th April 1976, in Oshawa Ontario. Cynthia and Leo raised two children, Kelly, and Stephen, before moving to England and exploring Europe and the Middle East. While Leo worked Cynthia fearlessly explored new places and cultures. Cynthia was known for her cooking and baking skills, putting on great dinner parties for family and friends. Cynthia enjoyed picnics, or grand alfresco events, to the envy of all that parked nearby. Cynthia is survived by her husband, Leopold Gaessler; daughter, Kelly Gaessler (Brian Kyle) in Hamilton Ontario; son, Stephen Gaessler in Toronto Ontario; and her father, Frederick Henry currently residing in a seniors home in Hamilton Ontario. Cynthia’s mother Vera Henry née Oliver passed away in Halifax 6th June 2015. Cynthia and Leo have two exceptional grandchildren Benjamin (Ben) and Alexander (Alex) Kyle.
