Obituary of Peter Politte

Peter Politte Glace Bay It is with great sadness of heart that we announce the passing of our beloved, husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, Peter Politte, age 91, on Saturday, February , 25, 2023 at Hospice Cape Breton surrounded by his loving family. Born in Glace Bay, on May 31, 1931 to the late Paul and Minnie Politte. Peter started his working career with Markadonis Shoe Repair and stayed there until his retirement. He was a lifetime member of the Glace Bay Pensioner’s Hall. He was an avid bowler, golfer, skater and he loved to played pool with the Boys, as well as his daily trips to Tim Horton’s. Peter is survived and will be missed by his loving wife, of 64 years, June (Babstock) Politte; daughter Tara; brother, Andrew ‘Blackie’ (Sheila); sisters Beatrice Politte and Frances LeFort as well as nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Michael and William; sisters, Pauline and Helen. Thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of Hospice for the excellent care he received during his brief time there. Cremation has taken place. A memorial mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 2, 2023 in Holy Cross Church, Seaview St., Glace Bay with Fr. Norman MacPhee presiding. Reception to follow at the Glace Bay Pensioners Club, 445 Upper North St. ‘May God hold and keep you until we meet again.’
