Obituary of David Michael ‘Mike’ Corkery

Corkery, David Michael ‘Mike’, passed away April 1, 2018 at the age of 72. Born in 1945 in Saint John, New Brunswick he was a son of the late David and Genevieve (Lannen) both of Saint John. Mike was a member of the Knights of Columbus for many years starting in Saint John and then transferring to Halifax. Mike was an avid record collector since the early 50’s. He used to DJ at his school dances and then here in Halifax for weddings and dances for several years. Survived by wife, Germaine (Ouellette); son, Marc (Melissa) Corkery; granddaughters, Chelsea and Ella of Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia; and son, David (Jennifer) Corkery; grandsons, Ashton and Ethan of Edmonton, Alberta. He is also survived by brother, Terence Corkery of Saint John; sisters, Shaun (Paul) Comeau of Saint John, Lana (Art) Galbraith of Montreal; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 9, 2018 from 10 – 11 am with funeral service following at 11 am both in St. John Vianney Church, 4 Beaver Bank Road, Lower Sackville, followed by reception in the church hall.
