It is with deep sorrow, that we, the family of Neil Jefferies announce his passing at the age of 86 in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, on Tuesday, February 7, 2023. Born in Ingleton England, he was the son of the late Helen and Alfred Kershaw.
At the tender age of 18 Neil entered the military in England, he then reported back at the age of 19. Neil met his wife Hazel when he was 20 and together, they lived a happy and fulfilled life; they loved to travel all over the world, this included taking several cruises. Neil was an avid sports fan as well, and enjoyed watching a variety of teams play on T.V.
Neil is survived by his wife Hazel of 62 years; daughters: Angela (Melvin) Tutty and Gail Kelly (Gary); half sisters: Sharen (David) Wears and Lynne Kershaw; grandchildren: Vanessa (Tom) Hopkins, Vikki (Shawn) Matheson, and Stephanie Tutty (Jeremy) Gomes; great-grandchildren: Benjamin Matheson, Clark Matheson, Anna-Grace Matheson, and Steve-May Hopkins; as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
Along with his parents, Neil was predeceased by his grandson Michael Tutty.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at 7 p.m. in Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness, 257 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS.
