Blanche Marion Brown, Glace Bay, NS, 1929-2023

Heaven welcomed its newest angel with the passing of our beautiful mother, Blanche Marion Brown, 93, of Glace Bay on Feb. 7.

Born in Milford, NS, Blanche was the daughter of the late Parker and Katie (Justess) Seeton. She was predeceased by George, her devoted husband of 60 years, brothers Frank and Gerald, sisters Margaret (Myers), May (Underwood) and Emma (Elliot), and her very good friend Josie Burke.

Mom lived the early part of her life in Halifax where she met George. The couple moved to Dominion, and later to Glace Bay to raise their 12 children.

Blanche is survived by six sons: Charles (Faye), Paul, Basil, George (Christine Handley), Cornelius/Connie (Loreen) and Michael (Kathy); and six daughters: Theresa Campbell (John Miller), Dolores, Kathleen (Lary) Trites, Anita, Denise (John) MacCaull, and Joanne (Craig) Boyce. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren: Shawn Campbell; Gregory (Cyntia Parra-Munoz) and Angela Brown; Aaron, Andrew, Melissa, and Evan Brown; Amanda and Jarett Brown; Robie and Alex Trites; Katherine MacCaull; MacKenzie Brown; Owen, Natalie and Dylan Boyce; Jeffrey, Tyler, Jason, Alexis and Caitlin Brown; and 11 great-grandchildren: Carter, Jaxon, and Addalyn Campbell; Naomi, Ethan, and Emily Brown-Parra; Carter, Max, Tristan and Tiernan Brown; and River Trites-Christian.

Our family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the staff at Seaview Manor for all the care and compassion shown to Mom during her nine years in residence there.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023, from 5-7 p.m. at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS. 902.849.4199.

Funeral mass to be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at 10 a.m. in St. Anne’s Parish, Glace Bay, with Fr. Duaine Devereaux presiding.
