Obituary of Jean Claire Potter

Jean Claire Potter Sydney It is with the heaviest of hearts we announce that our wife, mother, grandmother, sister and best friend Jean Claire Potter (1953 – 2023) passed away on February 1, 2023 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Jean is survived by her husband Gardiner, sons Aaron and Garth, daughter in-law Silvia, her grandson Oliver, sisters Heather Johnston and Shirley Bennett, brother David as well as brothers in-law Frank (Marion) Potter, Rob (Lisa) Potter, sisters in-law Linda (Ronnie) Shaw and Colleen (Jon) Robins. When Jean wasn’t up in the Highlands camping with Gardiner and her little Moe, she was happiest at home surrounded by the ones she loved the most. Jean, the daughter of Wilbert and Lois (Spears) MacInnis, was predeceased by her parents, her brother Jimmy, brothers’ in-law Jerry Johnston, Jamie Potter and Andre Bennett, and her parents’ in-law Frank and Rita Potter. We would like to thank Dr. Sheppard, the Cancer Center staff, the Palliative/Hospice Care team and VON for their expertise, kindness and compassion. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of T.J. Tracey Cremation & Burial Specialists, 6 Churchill Drive, Sydney, NS, 902-539-7175.
