Gail Evelyn Degaust Glace Bay With broken hearts we announce that Gail Evelyn (Dillon) Degaust was called home to be with her Lord and Saviour in her 67 th year surrounded by her loving family. In those years she made the world a more beautiful place for all who knew and loved her. Born in Glace Bay, she was the youngest daughter, of the late John and Evelyn (Peach) Dillon. Gail was employed by the Nova Scotia assessors and appraisers for 37 years until retirement. A dedicated member of the Glace Bay Baptist Church, where she held several offices. She was a beautiful and talented rug hooker. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family. Left to grieve are her loving husband of 45 years, Gary, with whom she had an extraordinary relationship built on mutual respect and deep unending love. Her two adoring children, Andre (Brittany) and Stefanie (Stephen) White and her three wonderful grandsons, whom she loved deeply Matthew, Reece and Jesse. Also left to remember her much love are her four brothers, Gary (Elsie) Dillon, Daryl Degaust, Brian (Dyan) Degaust, Andre (Brenda) Degaust, and three sisters, Ruth (Garry) Smith, Ronda Degaust (Bob Clarke) and Denise (Derek) Walker as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins all of whom she loved. Besides her parents, Gail was predeceased by her mother and father -in-law, Marie and Ronald Degaust who thought of her as one of their own. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS 902-849-4199. A private family memorial will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2018 with Pastor Gary Dillon officiating, followed by an open reception for family and friends of Gail held at the Glace Bay Baptist Church, 229 York St., Glace Bay, from 2-4 pm. “When you left, a piece of us went too, you are forever loved and will be greatly missed more than we could ever imagine.” Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family by visiting www.tjtracey.com
