It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Selena Cameron-Martell, age 49. Born in Sydney, Selena was the daughter of the late Donald and Joyce (Anderson) Cameron. Selena was a beacon of light in the lives of those around her.
Selena is survived by her loving husband Scott; stepdaughter Arrissa; sisters, Cathy (Joe) Myette, Karen (Tom) Merner, Clara (Miles) Fortune, Joan (Terry) Riles, Donalda (Gordie) Saulnier; a brother Lawrence Cameron; godchild Christina Merner, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Selena was predeceased by brothers Wayne and Rodderick; brother-in-law Miles; as well as two nephews T.J. and Donald Leslie.
Selena brought joy to all who crossed her path. Selena’s favourite activity was playing darts. She loved spending time with friends at the Dominion Fire Hall and Branch 12 Legion, shooting darts and making memories. Along with darts she spent many hours working and volunteering at the Dominion Fire Department. Selena spent countless periods with her sister-in-law Ali(Alison), chatting with her family. One of Selena’s favourite places was Tim Horton’s, hardly ever did you see her without a tea in her hands. Selena will be missed but never forgotten in the hearts of those close to her.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Friday, January 27, 2023 from 10:30 to 12:30 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 12:30 p.m. with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating all taking place at T. J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199). A reception will follow at the Dominion Fire Hall, 14 Commercial St., Dominion.
