61 of Lower Sackville, NS, formerly of English Harbour West, NL passed peacefully away at home on January 16, 2023 surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer.
Leaving to mourn are his wife of 37 years Beverly, sons Adam (Alicia), Thomas (Chelsea), daughter Lydia (Kevin), precious granddaughter Freyja, and his beautiful cat, Cheeze Whiz. Mother Ruby and step father Sidney, brother Darrell (Karen), sisters Cindy (Jerry), Roxann (Jeff). Mother-in-law Nellie Hopkins, brother-in-law John (Anne Marie), Bill (Jane) and a large circle of Uncles, Aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Max was preceded by his father Joseph and Maternal grandparents Thomas and Alberta Thornhill.
Max was a furnace mechanic for over 30 years. His work took Max and his family from coast to coast. His favorite place was Nunavut, where he was able to hunt, ride snowmobile from October to June and drive a four-wheeler the rest of the time. At the age of 45, Max got his motorcycle license and the rest is history. He rode in the wind whenever it was possible making wonderful memories with his family and friends.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to T.J. Tracey, 71 McQuade Lake Crescent, Halifax, NS where visitation will take place on Friday January 20, 2023, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A Funeral service will take place on Saturday January 21, 2023, at 1pm in the funeral home chapel.
Many of you have asked how to help the family during this time. We appreciate your consideration and ask that in lieu of flowers contributions are made to the family to assist with funeral and final expenses.
