Obituary of Teresa Lee Doyle
Please share a memory of Teresa to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
66 of Halifax passed peacefully on January 10, 2023 at the Hospice Halifax surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Barrie, Ontario she was the daughter of the late, Royal Pettigrew and Doreen Scoffins.
Being in a military family had her living in many places growing up, but Germany always held a special place in her heart, and she often reminisced on her time there. Teresa was a proud employee of the IWK for over 30 years and she spoke so fondly of her time there, making so many friends along the way. She was so proud to do her part during the pandemic and worked full time through the entirety. If you weren’t lucky enough to meet her at the IWK, you likely would have seen her at the Bowling Alley where she spent every Thursday with her league tearing up the lanes. She never missed a single night. She was a fiercely competitive woman and loved to play cards and washer toss with her friends, especially her long-time friend and colleague, Brenda, who was with her every step of her battle. Try to beat her at Skipbo, good luck! She was an outgoing firecracker who loved to socialize and never sat still for long. She was also the most loving Nana to her 5 grandchildren, Hugo, Felix, Monty, Amelia, and Pierce. They were her pride and joy and she loved spending time with them.
She is survived by her son, Shawn (Amanda); daughter, Stephanie (Cody); siblings, Julie-Ann (Roy), Maureen (Gordon) and Kevin; nieces and nephew Amy (Craig), Lindsay (Ashley), Lydia, Damien (Kim); as well as her great nephews, Jacob, Colton, and James.
Teresa is predeceased by her former husband Joseph Dober.
Special thanks to Dr. Walsh and the entire team at Hospice Halifax who took such wonderful care of her.
