Obituary of Gloria Jean Archibald
Please share a memory of Gloria to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
ARCHIBALD, Gloria Jean, 76 of Sackville. It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that the family of Gloria Jean Archibald announce her sudden passing on December 31, 2022.
Gloria leaves to mourn her two daughters, Donna Archibald (Jonathan), and Carol Archibald (Wayde); granddaughter, Kaylee McGregor (Ryan); and great grandson, Jackson; granddaughter, Brianna; granddaughters, Chelsea (Brad), and Jessica; great grandchildren, Lily, Andrew and baby Alexander. She will be dearly missed by her sisters, Ruth Young, Linda Flynn, Heather Lively, and Kathy Wambolt (Doug); many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, Marshall and Florence Young (Davis); brother, Allen; nephew Darren; and brothers in law, Alvin, and Wade.
Gloria had a great passion for her family; they were the key to her heart. She adored time spent with them. Her love was immeasurable. Gloria was always up for a road trip. She would start a daily countdown for the cousins’ annual vacation months in advance. When out to dinner she would peruse the menu yet ALWAYS order fish ’n chips, as we knew she would, ha-ha. She was happiest when she was with family, often laughing until we cried and leaving us in stitches. Despite physical challenges, brought on by her health, she never missed an opportunity for family gatherings.
Gloria had a huge heart. She was a kind, loving, caring and hard-working person. We loved her quick, yet dry, sense of humor which often got her in trouble. No matter what the task or adventure she was always there to lend a hand. She loved baking and we all had a favorite recipe. Her famous cream puffs always came with a lengthy story. She loved knitting sweaters and socks for all the wee ones, painting, housecleaning, decorating, digging up trees (a long and funny story), renovating, exploring (many more stories), landscaping, babysitting, and volunteering. It was a long list and goodness we had some fun!
She leaves us with hearts full of sorrow yet filled with love and countless memories. You enriched our lives. We love you.
A special thank you to Ashley and Pamela for their love and respect for Aunt Gloria. She received so much comfort in knowing you were always there. She loved you dearly. Heather for all the chores you helped her conquer, you kept each other busy, and she so loved and appreciated you. To our dear Family Friend Pat MacKay for her continued love, support, and hands on care. She cherished and loved each of you.
Betty, her dear dear friend. The countless hours that you chatted, the stories that you shared and all the good times that you had, she loved you dearly.
