Obituary of Shirley Tracey

TRACEY, Shirley, Age 72, Peacefully passed away December 21 at Northwood Halifax. Born in Windsor NS, Shirley was the daughter of late Margaret and Peter Rines. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved entertaining with Ron, her beloved husband of 52 years, and had many wonderful times with family and friends at their home in Mount Uniacke. Shirley was a gracious hostess and always had fresh baked treats to offer when friends dropped in. Shirley was very involved in her community, helping with church events and fundraising when able. She enjoyed travelling, especially to warm destinations. Shirley enjoyed her retirement years relaxing at home. She took great pleasure in being outdoors and observing the birds and wildlife sharing her surroundings on her much-loved Piggott Lake property. Shirley is survived by her loving husband, Ron Tracey; son, Daren Tracey; and granddaughter, Sophia Tracey; along with brothers, Dale Rines and Fred Rines; sisters, Betty Rines, Margie (Steven) Redden; and nieces and nephews. Thank you to Dr. Baker, the nurses and staff of Northwood for their kind and compassionate care during Shirley’s stay. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia in Shirley’s memory. Cremation has occurred with interment at a later date. By request, there is no service but friends are invited to visitation at T. J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 71 McQuade Lake Crescent, Halifax, on January 6, 2023 from 3pm-6pm.
