It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the sudden passing of Sylvia Dunn on Friday, December 23, 2022 at home.

Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Alla and Tillie (McLeod) McIntyre.

Sylvia was employed for many years as a secretary. She was a lover of cats and played TV Bingo every Wednesday.

Sylvia is survived by her son Tony Dunn, Ontario; two daughters, Valerie Francis) Hurley, New Waterford, Janet Dunn Sabean (Greg), Halifax; two brothers, Greg McIntyre, Arthur (Tickie) McIntyre, both of Dominion; 11 grandchildren; four great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews as well as her long-time special friends, Frances Besson and Grace Delaney.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband Tony in 2020; sons, Francis and Michael and brothers, Manning and Jimmy; sister, Lois.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 2, 2023 with Fr. Duaine Devereaux officiating at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199).

Donations in memory of Sylvia may be sent to the SPCA. A special thank you to Johnny McKay for all that you did for Sylvia, keeping an eye on her.
