My heart and soul are saddened by the loss of Bernie, my
condolences go out to his family.
I knew Bernie over many years of bowling and was enriched with his kindness, joking and his guidance to me, I saw him once before he passed and we exchanged emails while I updated him on our team. In one of these conversations he told me he knew he would make a bowler out of me, I know that he did indeed influence my bowling through our friendship.
He was a good man and it was my privilege to have known him and to have been able to call him my friend.

Our deepest condolences to Bernie's family and loved ones. It seems he leaves this world the same way in which he lived in it - taking everything in stride and trying to put a smile on everyone's face. Of course he wrote his own obituary! We used to run into Bernie, sometimes accompanied by his longtime friend, Kevin, at the casino. They would often stop to chat and over several years, we felt like we had become buddies. It was always good to see him and we knew we'd be in for a few laughs when we saw him coming down the escalator into the casino. The staff adored him and always looked forward to his drop-ins. He was always friendly, always positive and he will be greatly missed. I hope he's off enjoying Bernie-burgers somewhere and that the other side has welcomed him with open arms. Much Love, Leslie and Maggie

Bernie, hearing of your illness was shocking. I thought we would still have some time to meet have dinner and talk of old times. That is not going to happen but rest assured, you will be remembered often, with the best memories. You always were a good friend, the best bowler and gambler I knew. Rest in peace good friend.

My condolences to Bernie's family and his many friends.
We both work in the Insurance industry for many years and became friends along the way.
He had a great sense of humor and loved a good chuckle.
Just recently I discovered we had similar taste in music and he had quite the selection of CDs. I told him he could start his own radio show.
I will miss our quarterly lunches with your updates on your bowling averages on the many teams you were on and in the summer your golf scores.
Rest in peace Bernie, you will be missed.

Remembering my cousin Bernie. His maternal grandmother Martha and my paternal grandmother Kate, maiden name, Kelly, were sisters. Bernie was a true gentleman. He was an ostomy volunteer at the hospital. He and James were ushers at St Theresa. He shared his parents interest in old time music. RIP

I was buddies with Bernie for 20+ years. We shared a lot of memories and good times while golfing, bowling,WWE and making our nicknames. We shared many meals out together and especially late night visits to the casino. Many nights we would visit car lots checking out the cars. He was my personal taxi driver on many occations. I will miss a very special friend and his many late night chats. Until we meet again Bro we always had a blast!

It truly was fate to have had the wonderful dinner and evening together in October. I will always play wheel of fortune slots and think of Bernie. He will certainly be missed by many friends and family. We hope he is having a big kitchen party with all the aunts and uncles and Mildred is playing the accordion. Rest In Peace cousin your suffering has ended.

Dear Bernie, You left this life the same way you lived it- lots of laughs and smiles while making other peoples lives better. I was so sad when Kevin told me you passed that I actually cried for awhile but remembering all our bowling times together and the constant battle between Todd and you on the lanes made me smile. May God care for you in your eternal life my friend and I'll never forget your kindness and humor - you will be missed. Take care Buddy. - Kevin McNeil.

Bernie, this is a sad time for all of us who considered you a friend. Your happy demeanor was infectious and your belief that you would beat me on Tuesday night was nothing short of comical. Our constant joking was something I looked forward to and will dearly miss. Rest now my friend, you have earned it.
