Glace Bay
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Effie Mae (Tootsie) Hudson, 79 of Glace Bay, on Friday November 25th, 2022, in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Katherine and Malcolm White.
Tootsie enjoyed playing baseball and adored working with children; she loved working at Margie's Convenience Store in New Aberdeen and particularly loved it when all the little kids would come in.
She is survived by the love of her life Bruce Hudson of 59 years, her daughter-in-law Kelly; sister Willena of Grace Bay and sister-in-law Cavelle of Seattle Washington; grandsons: Brian David, and Christopher Adam, and two beautiful great granddaughters Nevaeh Ann and Raya Lynn; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Tootsie was predeceased by her only child Malcolm Bruce; sisters Susan, Joyce, and Annie; brothers: Roy, Aubrey, Fred, and Malcolm.
Cremation has taken place under the care and compassion of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS. 902.849.4199. As per Tootsie’s wishes there will be no service.
We would like to give special thanks to the nursing staff at Palliative Care in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
