Obituary of John Angus MacAskill

Born May 15 1949 of Middle Sackville; Nova Scotia has sadly passed away on November 15 2022 in his home with family around him. John was married to his loving wife, Gail Kathleen MacAskill (Atkinson) of 42 years and have been together many years before that. He is survived by daughters, Melissa Sue MacAskill, and Rachel May MacAskill; granddaughter, Lydia Jay MacAskill. John is the last sibling of 12 of his family to pass. He was born in Englishtown, Cape Breton and spent many years in Halifax at the school for the deaf, once that had closed, he went to Amherst to the school for the deaf. John worked at the Delta Halifax for 28 years and he loved to tease and make jokes with his coworkers and anyone he met. John was always generous to friends and family; he would fix things, when they needed food or money he was there and was always a strong shoulder to lean on. He loved to play darts and make his own accessories for his dart kits. He loved being out and socializing with his friends at the Halifax malls and enjoying everyday. When he was younger, he enjoyed fishing in Cape Breton and was part of a bowling league. John loved to watch wrestling and old action movies. A celebration of life service will take place on November 24, 2022 at the Bedford legion, 1772 Bedford highway, from 1pm-3 pm.
