Obituary of Alfred Wallace Jollimore

Please share a memory of Alfred to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
With heavy, broken hearts and great sadness, we announce the sun has set for our amazing, Alf. Surrounded by family, he left us peacefully on November 15, 2022, at the Halifax Infirmary, QEII site. Born in Halifax, Alf was the first child of the late Wallace and Jane Jollimore. In his early years, Alf's career was painting vehicles and eventually opened his own shop. He was always very mechanically inclined and enjoyed taking boat engines apart to see what they were made of. He often had one too few or one too many screws left but always managed to make the engine run. That was Alf, make do with what he had. He was a simple, patient man. He enjoyed spending time at his cottage boating, swimming, and playing horseshoes with his family and best friend, Kevin Hackett. In his retirement, he enjoyed going to parties where he was the life of the party and often the last to leave, as well as boating and climbing the shoreline cliffs with his son Darren. Alf's motto was "One fish at a time is good fishin", he always saw the positive in life. He also enjoyed going on daily drives with his soulmate of over 32 years, Shelly, and spending time daily with his daughter Jacklyn and the most recent love of his life, granddaughter Olivia. He will always be her "Binky." Alf is survived by, his soul mate, Shelly; sons, Darren (Cathy), Wayne (Denise), Richard (Victoria); daughters, Patricia, Diane (Ernie), Donna, Sharon (Don) and Jacklyn (Howie); sisters, Sheila, and Vivian; 15 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. Besides his parents, Alf is predeceased by his daughter, Gina; grandson, Jonathan; brothers, Raymond, Roy and Gerald in infancy; sister, Elaine and lifelong friend; and brother-in-law, Kevin Hackett. He will be missed and loved beyond measure. Cremation has taken place, no visitation by request. Celebration of life will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation, The Lung Association, or a charity of choice in memory of Alf.
