Jacklyn Barbara Anne (Clarke) Proctor
April 30, 1947 – November 9 2022
It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of our dear wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Barbara Proctor, age 75, at home after a long battle with cancer. She died peacefully surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Barbara was born in Bras d’Or, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Jenny (Young) Clarke.
In her early years, she enjoyed singing and dancing, playing darts and softball. She attended all of her husband’s James many athletic games. She devoted her life to her adoring husband and children, especially her grandchildren. She loved to make people laugh, always doing something funny. Barb loved everyone she met; her door was always open to everyone.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband, James, who doted on her everyday; daughter, Marlene (Sheldon) Aucoin, James Jr. (Lesley); her three grandchildren, Tara Lynn Aucoin, Devon Proctor and Jace Dylan Aucoin; sister, Eileen (the late Dougie) Oliver; brother, Norman; her extended family, Donalda (Darren), Melanie (Dwayne) Jerry (Shelly); special friend, that she considered a daughter, Susan Nearing as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her sisters, Sis, Eva, Delores; brothers, Donnie, Gerald, and Robert; nephews, Joe Glenn, Robbie, and Jeff.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2022, from 1-2 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 2 p.m. with Fr. Norman MacPhee presiding all taking place at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199).
The family would like to thank VON,the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff on 3 West and 3 East at the Glace Bay Hospital, 4C and 4A at the Regional Hospital, and the Palliative Care team, and to security and the covid screeners for being so kind to us. Thanks to the New Waterford Homecare. Thank you to Jeannie and Dr. Spencer for your care over the years, and to the staff at Pharmasave. Special thank you to the Kerri-Lou Crocker for all your care and support given to Barb. Thank you to all our friends and family especially, Darlene (Donnie) and Eileen "Pooch" who brought food, drop in for visits and being there for us during our time of need.
