We the family of Robert Gerard Morrison announce his passing on Monday, November 7, 2022, in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Robert was the son of the late Kenneth and Margaret Morrison of Dominion, NS.
A lifelong resident of Dominion, Robert was a kind and generous soul who never missed an opportunity to share a hot pot of tea and the latest joke. Robert’s love for the Boston Bruins, darts, bowling, and classic rock music was only surpassed by that of his passion for his family and friends. Robert was proud of his associations with the Dominion Hawks Club and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 78, Dominion.
Robert is survived by a sister Evelyn, with whom he resided; brothers: Greg (Marion), ON, and Raymond (Anita), River Ryan; sister-in-law Margie Morrison, Glace Bay, and brother-in-law Phillip MacDonald (Elaine), Dartmouth. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as grand nieces and nephews, who will miss his kindness, encouragement, and laughter.
Along with his parents, Robert was predeceased by a sister Edith MacDonald, and two brothers, Harold and Daniel, a special aunt Rosella MacDonald, and niece Janet Morrison.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ALS Society of Canada, or to a charity of one’s choosing.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, November 17, 2022, from 2-4 pm in T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS. 902-849-4199.
Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022, in Immaculate Conception Church, Dominion at 2 pm, with Fr. Daniel Boudreau, and Fr. Jim Oliver presiding. Interment to be held in Calvary Cemetery.
