Isabel Marie Yates Glace Bay It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Isabel Yates on Nov 7, 2022, at home with her daughter Cindy and son in law Michael by her side. Born in Glace Bay Dec 10, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Tom and Gertrude MacPherson Tablehead, Glacé Bay. Prior to her illness she was a member of St Anthony’s Parish. Mom was known as “MA” to her family and friends and had the license plate MA1. She loved company and the tea pot was always on. She welcomed our friends and her grandchildren ‘s friends into our home and made them feel comfortable. Ma had a big heart and treated everyone with kindness. Ma was the happiest surrounded by her children and grandchildren - her family was her world, and she was our rock. Over the years she could be found either at the hockey rink or baseball field cheering on her 2 grandsons Kelly and Cameron. Ma loved to skate, walk, and dance and did so right up to her illness. She took immense pride in decorating our house for all occasions especially Christmas-she loved Christmas! Left broken hearted is her only daughter and best friend Cindy (Michael), 2 sons Kelly (Shannon) and John (Wendy), grandsons Kelly and Cameron, granddaughter Ashley, great grandson Beau and her grand fur babies Mylo and Bella who slept by her side till the end. She was a beloved sister to Tootsie and Joan, and in-laws Vera MacPherson, Joan Yates, Agnus MacPherson, Linda Bailey (Gordie), Beverly Brown (Ricky), Darrell Yates (Ruth) and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Emily, and brother’s John Charles, Will, Neil, Tommy, Mark, Gus, Danny and Lem, father and mother-in-law Louie (Duckie) and Margaret Yates, brothers-in-law Weldie Yates, Francie Yates and John Brann, sisters-in-law Jackie Brann, Margie MacPherson and Barbara Yates and a special niece Donna French. A very special thank you to Michael, mom’s son-in-law (more like a son) who was there for mom every moment of every day for the past 2 1/2 years, your gentleness and empathy will be forever remembered. Thank you to her sister-in-law Vera who spent quality time with her every week since her illness. Ma always knew when Vera was coming and looked forward to her visit —Vera was always there for us, and words alone cannot express our appreciation. To Her caregiver and friend Karen who ma loved and who always made her laugh. Karen, you made her days as comfortable as she could be -your caring and compassion will never be forgotten! To Darlene Melnick for also taking such diligent care of ma and giving us a shoulder to lean on. To her favourite niece Sheri, and to Darrell, Ruth and Beverly thank you for being so good to her and for being there for us. Many thanks to all that called and visited her in the past 2 1/2 years. Special Thanks to Brett and Palliative Care, VON’S, Dr Burns and Dr Guy for the excellent care and kindness you gave ma and to Father Norman MacPhee for the house visits. Donations may be made to The Alzheimer s Association. As per Isabel’s wishes, cremation has taken place under the care and compassion of T.J. Words of comfort may be expressed to the family by visiting www.tjtracey.com. The love between a mother and her Children is forever. The bond between their hearts is unbreakable. The connection between their souls is eternal. Time, space, or even death can not separate them. There is pain while waiting to be together again. But when they meet again, they realize, That they were never truly apart at all. They were right there, in each other's Hearts all along. Love You Forever Cindy, Kelly, and John xoxo
